I'm working on my Jawas in anticipation of the new raid. From the hints the devs have dropped on the forums and Reddit, they may be pretty useful.
Any anti droid toon may be great for the next raid, so get those ughnaughts, eeths, jawas, and Imas ready for some action.

That looks SO epic! I'm more excited than ever about this game, with latest and upcoming changes. Of course, I didn't have to endure the mod rework that pissed so many people off. I'm glad I missed that part, haha! But I'm paying the price for it now, without Mk5 mod sets yet, when most my competition in Arena and GW have them.

This thread will be for discussion and strategies for the raid. I'm a F2P player on a May shard, so I do not have a deep roster or much experience, so if a more experienced player disagrees with me, you should probably believe them. I'll update this post with raid info when I'm not feeling lazy about it. Until then, details here: swgoh.gg/db/raids/tank-takedown/ . With that out of the way, here is what I've noticed:
- Jawas work really, really well with droids (or assist attacks in general). If a Jawa is called in on assist, this counts for their raid bonus, so you're getting ANOTHER attack! This also means Nebit calls 3 people in for an assist. Unfortunately, I think he's pretty awful outside of that. Low damage and super slow. I bet Jawa is a champ in this raid because of the slow, stun, assists, and bonus potency. - I think toppling the tank is a mistake. The side guns and body revive with full turn meter, so it's probably better to keep speed and damage debuffs on side cannons to keep the damage staggered.

ID, thanks for starting this up. It would generally be a great idea if everybody would post their experience with the raid so far, so that we can share tips and plan for the future.
As for me: 1/ Tried using TMR squad on P1, but failed rather short. I managed to keep GG at bay, but the counters of the IG100s and my generally low dmg (with the exception of Rey) didn't cut it through. Once I got rid of the droids, RNG failed me on Teebo, so GG resummoned basically everybody. 2/ Droid team worked quite well on P2. I used HK(L), 86, 88, CN & JE. Got 1 revive through (for 88), used toppled on the tank 2x, scored 515k. I considered that a good run. The full turn meter for tank after revive was fine for me. As long as I could keep CN taunting, I was OK. The main thing for tank is to avoid those nasty heavy hits.
I was thinking about generally trying to put a AOE squad only for P2, something like Sid(L), Lando, Ani +1 tank +1 debuffed and see how that would far. Ideas?

If a mod could move this to the Strategy subforum, that would be good. I posted this without signing in, and some of the subfora are not visible to those not signed in. >_<
I used the same team for my run. I don't think it's really got the sustain to get through more than 2 topples. CN can take one topple and get killed by the attacks on the second. Perhaps two topples until CN dies then retreat is good. I really want more crit chance on my droids because not getting a crit is losing an entire turn and dealing less damage with the hit you do get. For the raid, it may be worth having a crit chance set on over the HP set that I've currently got.
e: I also think it's important to look at this raid from the standpoint of what a "raid" usually is: an entire guild effort. I think we are used to 3 people beating the Rancor, so there might be a tendency to be shocked/annoyed with how difficult this raid is. I'm pretty confident that we can do Normal with the roster refreshes. It's something to work towards as a guild. Some back-of-the-envelope calculations show that each person has to do ~1.2m damage (assuming HP is the same across all phases, this calculation uses P2). It'll be a bit higher because of the empty slots/alts in the guild.

Thanks for posting guys! There's actually a "Megathread" that I posted awhile back over in the Strategy section. I'll move this & merge it into that thread. Also the reason why some sections are hidden is because I wanted to encourage our guild members to sign up. I do realize it's been pretty dead in here recently but we didn't have much to discuss before . Like Cubbish said, if we want to defeat the heroic version of this raid we are going to have to be pretty well coordinated and checking the forums. As for tips: I've been experimenting with several team compositions for Phase 1. Here's a few that I found pretty decent: Ima-Gundi (L), QGJ, Anakin, EE, & Lumi
This team felt pretty solid thanks to Ima's leadership ability giving Jedi a counter chance. So every time one of those dirty countering bastards hit you, you've got a shot at retaliating. My Jedi's are still pretty undergeared (and unmodded, boo.) so it's something I'll be working on. But I still racked up 100k+ with an under geared team. Ideally, I'm thinking something like Ima (L), Anakin, Ahsoka (she has synergy with Anakin now!), Aayla, & EE would work pretty nicely. Eeth Koth may also be a good alternative (instead of Aayla), but mine isn't good enough to throw in a team (G7). Palp (L), Tarkin, Vader, Magma, EE or AckbarNow here's a team I'm really looking forward to building up. Thanks to Palpatine, the empire has some really sweet potency & health buffs along with good control of TM. Palpatine is also excellent due to his "Shock" ability which neuters B2, & the IG-100s from TM gains at least long enough to get some hits in on GG. Also with RG you can stun lock B2 fairly easily. HK, IG88, IG86, JE & EE (Yet again!)No one doubts the efficiency of droids, fight fire with fire right? I dealt 350kish on Phase 1 on Normal and 700k+ on Phase 2 in our Heroic attempt. Excellent synergy, and lots of opportunities to revive (as long as your abilities aren't locked that is!).

Some fun advice for p2 of the AAT raid: When I entered the fight with my 5th squad, I was directly attacked by the OHKO attack. I did not have any toon left that was fast enough to buff the team before AAT's first move, so I instrad brought in Old Ben. Retreated until he was targeted and immediately killed, revived him with elder with all my toons nicely buffed.
This seems to be nice counter for the OHKO attack if you have no other options left, your Old ben only needs to have 6 * and a reasonable level for the unique. Enjoy.

Some more notes after more playing:
- The difference in damage for my droids between normal and topple is ~40%. It seems like the guns are easier to kill in Normal (definitely shouldn't take my word on this) and deal less damage, so toppling seems to work well. In Heroic, it may not be worth toppling because of the increased damage (and possibly gun HP).
Some P2 tips for droid teams:
I use HK,88,86,JE,CN. The general strategy is to wear everything down evenly-ish, keeping in mind that ANY Jawa move will give an extra attack. Note if 86 calls in a Jawa, this also triggers a third attack! This is wonderful for droids because crits = turn meter. I use my AOEs when everything has fairly high HP and hope speed down is inflicted on the body. Exception to wearing down evenly: CN's assist attack will give FOUR total attacks (okay CN's attack is worthless, but hey...). I usually save this for the main cannon when I'm ready to kill the guns.
YOU NEED TO GET THE SPEED BUFF. Nebit is slow as fuck and JE has long cooldowns. These are arguably more important than the extra damage (but that's really nice, too!). It really helps if CN has both specials Omega'd because w/o speed on his mods, he's only a bit faster than the tank WITH THE SPEED BUFF. Nebit first turn after topple taunts. This helps JE CDs and will likely give him at least one turn of healing. HK and 88 specials are for when the tank is back up, 86 uses special on CD unless you don't want to accidentally kill a gun. JE heal is used on CD once protection is gone. JE TM boost is for after topple is over, but be sure to see how TMs look compared to the tank. JE basic is a bit weird. It does pretty good damage, but if you use it on a gun, it's to get the assist attack as the detonator is likely wasted.
Using this, I managed ~1.7m damage with a few mistakes and only gear 9, no speed arrow, and no Omegas on CN. I managed 4 or 5 topples and I definitely would have had 1 more w/o the mistakes, let alone having a maxed team. I think I could probably hit 2.5+m if CN had more speed, HP, and Omegas.
e: I think I died 2 turns before Enrage, so I'm not sure how much higher I can push my damage.
Also, Jawa's basic would be wonderful for this phase. I don't see him fitting in on this team, but possibly on another. I'm not sure if a Jawa team is the team to use here. They seem more useful in P1 or P3.

Here's a pretty interesting setup involving Chirpa, EE & Palpatine for P3. Credit goes to Wild Grunt for the video: Basically you bring Chirpa as (L) in order to give TM to allies (half for non-ewoks), and focus on shocking every B1 droid (don't kill them!). What this does is it allows Palpatine's TM to recover 90% every time he goes, allowing you to go multiple times before B2 can even take a turn. EE is there to give Papa Palpatine some extra TM with his basic attack. All in all a very interesting (& smart) trick to extend your battles a little longer. Palpatine was right after all..

Guys, let me try to throw our my 2 cents regarding how to approach the AAT heroic. Let me know what you think.
1/ We need to get up to 50 active members ASAP. As much as I admire the efforts of Worban, we cannot keep inactive players on, if we want to beat heroic. I think they are long overdue on the guild rules, and therefore should be kicked out, and we should find alternatives
2/ Once we get to 50 active members, we can approach heroic AAT and cooperate as a real guild towards the goal of beating it. I believe many of you have already seen/read various AAT raid plans, videos etc. What follows is my take on the AAT heroic strategy that covers also our guild's global outreach (EU, Asia, Americas)
AAT game plan/suggested rules: 0/ Raid start keeps rotating at the same hours as Rancor raid. 1/ 12hrs zero tap rule - the first 12hrs after heroic AAT opens are open for anyone to tap for 0 dmg. 2/ Phase 1 - Phase 3 a/ each phase is designated to last up to 8hrs (meaning p1 finishes at raid_start+20hrs, p2 finishes at raid_start+28hrs, p3 finishes at raid_start+36hrs) b/ each phase is by default limited to 1 squad attack by any guild member (focused on maximal damage dealt) c/ there is a "phase officer" appointed to each phase, who oversees guild members efforts, and have 2 major decision rights: - call an "phase attack stop" in case we are already ready to clear the phase - call an "guild member extra attack" in case we need an extra attempt to clear the phase3 3/ Phase 4 opens as FFA after raid_start+36hours and last up to the end of raid (+48 hours)
I believe this whould a fair approach which accomodates every timezone players' needs, and also enables us to ensure a coordinated AAT heroic win.
Thoughts, ideas?

Another thing, I am convinced it would be good to start putting up a table of preferred Px team rosters for each player:
Cubbish: (P1) Phasma(L),QGJ,Rey,Lumi,Fives; P2 HK45(L),IG86,IG88,JE,CN; P3 Datcha(L),Jawa,JawaScavenger,EE,Ughnaught; P4 Lando(L),Wiggs,STH,AA

Hi Cubbish, Thanks for taking the initiative. Right now, we are pretty far away from doing heroic. I have the impression that we are even getting slower with normal AAT. I agree that we need to get up to 50 active players, meaning that we have to take out the inactive players, even if they have been very active in the past. I am afraid that we have not only lost Worban with his two accounts, but also Korabane. They would have been huge assets for heroic, so this really hurts, apart from he fact that they were long time guildies.
Now my thoughts regarding heroic AAT: We will not need a tap phase here, and it would even be counterproductive. The whole raid is only 48 hours, so we should give every phase 12 hours to allow everybody to optimize damage. If you tap, you give turn meter to the grievous team when you later enter with your regular team to deal damage. This phase will be already difficult enough. We will really need to optimize teams to not waste teams in early phases that would be more effective in a later phase. So we should mostly use Jedi teams for phase 1, reserve optimized droids with CN and JE for phase 2, keep Chirpa/Palpatine/3 tanks for phase 3, maybe also Jawas, Wiggs for phase 4. Only toons not required for optimized teams could be used to complete phases after optimized teams are used up. We could organize this a bit by opening one thread per phase where everybody can post which team they are planning to use in that phase, to help each other with the strategy. This would also provide us with some visibilty regarding our heroic readiness.
Right now, I am afraid that we are still very far from being ready (I had look at the rosters of our players, we do not have enough optimal teams available yet).
Personally, I still need to get my Chirpa and Wedge to 7 stars, they are only at 6 stars yet. 7 star Aayla would also help, but that is another 30 days project.
Another question to everybody in the guild: who is really motivated to do heroic and willing to really work on this? Looking at the participation in normal, I have the impression that there is an issue with the motivation.
Again, thanks Cubbish, for taking this up, I really think that we should get everybody's thoughts on how we want to proceed. Cheers, Z

Hey guys, thanks for posting your ideas. I do agree we have to kick the folks who've been gone for over a month (and it will happen). I just haven't done it yet since we still have some vacant spots open. We've also lost several of our strong members: Womp, Riain, Korabane & Worban all in the span of a few weeks from each other, and recruiting new 'strong' members isn't so easy because folks with a good rosters want to join guilds that are already well established and have their own sizeable rosters. We don't have those kind of roster numbers unfortunately as we considered ourselves a casual guild, and early on we didn't have any requirements in place when accepting newcomers, so many of our members are only starting on their second or third teams. Are we ready for the Heroic? Honestly, I think we still have a long way to go.. We need better communication first of all, as with Rancor we didn't really require everyone to actively participate since the raid itself is pretty easy. This raid on the other hand will be our first actual test, and when we decide to attempt the T7 Heroic AAT raid again (perhaps in a month just to see how we are doing?), we definitely do not want to do taps. We aren't strong enough to have that luxury. We want every single member to do their fair deal of damage (TI recommends 2% per member for -each- phase). This is why I had been asking members to register an account over at SWGOH.gg so we can get a remote idea of how many actual strong teams we can rely on, sadly not many did. I do like the idea of making a thread for each phase and splitting our members across the different phases (I'll let you guys decide on that). Picking whichever phase they feel most comfortable with (that have the proper team setups.) Personally, I still need to farm Aayla, Chirpa & gear up my Jawas to consider myself viable for each phase. The interest to do the T& AAT raid is definitely dwindling, I feel a lot of our members are loosing their drive to do the AAT raid, myself included (although I was pretty busy this week). What worries me is that more of our stronger members will eventually leave because there isn't any progress being made. If we want to be successful, we need more members to take an active stance in the guild by reminding others to sign up on the forums & swgoh.gg if they haven't done so yet. Especially recruiting, and I don't mean accepting random members who request to join from the Guild Tab, but from the actual forums or r/swgoh. Sometimes you'll get nothing for days which can be discouraging, other times you do get replies but they can either be too weak, or ask if we have a strong roster as a guild. " How close are you to T7 Heroic AAT?" for example.. With that said, I want to thank everyone who -has- helped in some way or another, by suggesting ideas, helping members in guild chat/forums, or simply starting/announcing FFA raids. Those little things, no matter how insignificant you think they might be really help. Otherwise I might've become a phantom by now, like our previous guild leader(s). so thank you guys.

I think we need to coordinate who is attacking with which team during what phase, rather than letting people throw whatever they want in. Save the zerg for P4.
We should see what the nerfed raid looks like before we make any major decisions, too. We are definitely not Heroic ready right now, but how far away we are will change once they adjust the raid.
We need to find a way to boost interest in the raid. As it is, only 11-12 members are doing their "fair share" of the damage (1/50th of total hp, ~4.15 million). I'm not sure what ratio of the remaining is because they can't and how many are because they won't. I'm thinking there is a large gap in preparedness/willingness, because only the top 12 did more than 4.15 million, and 8th did ~11.7 million (sorry Olaf, I beat you to 7th at the last minute!) Unfortunately, people don't contribute because it takes forever, but not contributing makes it take longer. We'll see how the update fixes this.
I'm focusing my efforts into leveling to 85, then gearing Jawas, then deciding which team to gear next (and farming that team!) Having a Jawa and Droid teams is really, really good during Normal raids, but it'll be much less useful during Heroic because JE and Nebit will be with my droids. My undergeared squad (three 10s and two 8s) does ~800k during P3 normal and a solid amount without JE in P4.
e: as for recruiting, I think we need to look at what we have in our roster now and accept people at worst slightly below the "normal" member. We are not going to be attractive to players with good rosters, so we should just accept that and take people that can contribute solidly.

Something we should do now is identify which phases we are weakest at and some people start building teams that can deal with them.
For example, it took us 2 days to take down P1, between 1 and 2 to take down P2 (got into P3 on day 4), and looking like ~2 days for P3.
Once I finish my last 2 jawas, I'll be focusing on a Jedi team for P1 but it'll be quite a while before that's ready to go.

I completely agree, me personally I have to focus on P1 - don't have a viable team for that. I have fully armed droids, fully geared (not modded yet) jawa team - so I'm fine for P2 and P3. I have a workable squad around Phasma, Rey, QGJ, Lumi to deal good DPS as well, and getting up to speed on Rebels - Lando(L), Wiggs, STHan, AA -> waiting for G9 and finalized mods on Wiggs. These two should be good for P4 DPS close.

Alright everyone just to let you all know Cubbish and I were having a discussion to do with the AAT tank takedown. The discussion was that Cubbish said I suggest that we try a heroic AAT next. We have enough coins to see how it goes I said why not I can't wait then Cubbish said if we don't move towards completion soon then we could just cancel and start a normal I said that we do waste a lot of the tickets so I see no problem with doing that. He thinks that we should do a 1 squad per phase per player and I said that I think p3 and p4 should be more that one squad per player I wonder what is your opinion on this
